Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need an appointment? We are walk-in only unless you are looking to receive an intimate piercing. These types of piercings are for those 18+ and require a special appointment as well as a $50 deposit which you can do here on our website.
Can I bring my own jewelry? For your safety, initial piercings must be performed with jewelry provided by Auren Piercing Lounge. This allows us to verify the material, quality, size, and style are appropriate for a fresh piercing. Also, in the event it would break, we would not have a way to replace, repair, or compensate for the jewelry.
How much does it cost? Piercing Fee with the exclusion of industrial and intimate piercings is $20. The remaining cost depends on what type of jewelry you pick when you get here. Note: every piece has its own individual price, and the type of metal/stones also determines pricing. You will be given your overall total before purchase and paperwork.
Do you pierce minors? Yes! We offer select age-appropriate piercings for minors 6 and up. A parent or legal guardian must be present, and appropriate identification/documentation is required. Age requirements vary depending on the piercing. You MUST have a physical copy of the minor's birth certificate of valid passport/state ID/drivers license. All parents/legal guardians must also provide a physical copy of their ID/drivers license/passport. *NO we will not accept a photo on your phone due to the rise in AI usage*
Why do you use needles instead of handheld pressure devices? (piercing guns) Handheld devices use force to push jewelry through, which can cause unnecessary damage, swelling, irritation, and uneven/angled piercings. Sterile, single-use piercing needles create a cleaner, more precise opening with less trauma and ultimately allows for better healing.
Can I buy jewelry without getting pierced? ABSOLUTELY! We offer all types of back sizes and bar lengths to fit your healed piercings. All jewelry works for both new and existing piercings.
IRRITATION VS INFECTION When should I see a doctor? Firstly, please reach out to us beforehand. Whether by phone, emailing photos, or stopping into the studio, we will be able to decipher the problem and better consult you on how to move forward. It is extremely rare to have a true infection present if you are following proper aftercare, but can still happen. Our goal is to save your piercing before you just remove it or waste your time and resources on doctors visits. Irritation shows up in the forms of mild redness, swelling, tenderness, small bumps, clear fluid and crust. Infection can show in the forms of excrutiating pain days after piercing, spreading redness, excessive swelling, excessing warmth, thick discilored discharge, fever/flu-like symptoms. Infection can develop within days to months after getting pierced. A healthcare provider will provide proper medication and care to fix the problem as we are not licensed to do so. Do NOT remove your jewelry until we or a healthcare provider has prompted you to do so. Removing jewelry on your own can cause more damage, pain, and trap harmful bacteria into the piercing as it closes.
Can I have someone with me when I get pierced? Yes, of course you can! It's great to have support, especially if you're a little nervous. However, we kindly ask if you have more than one person they wait in the lobby or right outside the studio doors as this is a boutique style room and foot room/privacy is limited.
